Elizabeth “Liz” Paulhus took the helm as the Executive Director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Pueblo on June 1, 2021. Hailing originally from West Virginia, Liz has lived, worked, and studied in many places, ranging from Germany and England to Pittsburgh (PA). With an undergraduate degree in Theology from Boston College and a Master’s in Public Policy from Brandeis University, Liz’s work over the last 17 years has focused heavily on creating policies and programs that provide stability, strengthen economic security, and open opportunities for growth and mobility for individuals and families.
Outside of work, you are likely to find Liz reading, walking, or biking, depending on the weather. And if you hear humming or singing coming from her office, do not be surprised. Liz has a deep love of music and has been singing in choirs for many years.
Liz is thrilled to join the incredible team at Catholic Charities and cannot wait to see what great work lies ahead for this organization as it seeks to transform the lives of families and communities in southern Colorado.
Ida Rhodes, Director of Programs since 2000, has over thirty years’ experience in the social work field, with accreditation in the Mission Based Leadership and Organization Development, University of Notre Dame and as a Cornell University Family Development Credential Program Supervisor, as well as numerous certifications for various prevention programs. Ms. Rhodes has extensive experience in successfully managing the agency programs, government contracts, and grants from public and private sources.
Erika Retzlaff, Director of Advancement, oversees all grants, contracts, fundraising, marketing, and public relations for the agency. Erika attended Colorado State University-Pueblo for undergrad where she received her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training with minors in leadership studies and business administration. She is currently continuing her education at Colorado State University Global, pursuing a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration with a specialization in Strategic Digital Information Marketing. Erika began her career with the LAUNCH Together Pueblo team at Catholic Charities where she currently serves as the Director of Advancement.
Kristin "Anu" Keiley, Director of Adult Programs, has a BSBA in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration from Colorado State University-Pueblo (CSU-P). She is the Program Coordinator for Project ACCESS and ReHire Colorado, a position she has held since January 2017. Prior to that she was the Job Coach for ReHire Colorado. Anu has been with Catholic Charities since June 2015. She is also an adjunct professor at CSU-P, she teaches International Business, International Management and Business Ethics. She is also a combat veteran with 12 years of service in the United States Army and three combat tours to Iraq and Kuwait.
Cari Herrald, Director of Finance, joined CCDP finance team in 2018 and was promoted to the Director of Finance in 2019. Ms. Herrald is responsible for overseeing the in-house finance team that coordinates and administers all financial processes, including payroll, to provide financial reporting and compliance for all internal and external users. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Accounting from Colorado State University-Pueblo and brings nine years of accounting experience to the agency.
