The goal of the Psychosocial Counseling program is to provide high quality, effective, affordable psychosocial counseling to individuals, couples, children, adolescents and families. Counseling services are available at the Pueblo Office and in Trinidad each Thursday and every other Friday.

The Psychosocial Counseling program:

  • Meets the highest professional standards by insuring that all counselors are licensed or supervised by a counselor licensed in the State of Colorado.
  • Uses research-based therapeutic techniques including Solution Focused Therapy and Play Therapy to address systemic family issues such as relationship counseling, marriage and family, victim assistance and domestic violence counseling.
  • Insure that fulltime clinicians are Medicaid/Medicare certified.
  • Uses a sliding fee scale to insure affordability.
  • Uses an outcome measurement system to track client outcomes such as increased insight, decision-making, parenting, communication and self-management skills, decreased depression, anxiety and suicidal ideations and overall enhanced quality of life.

Counseling services include:

  • Individual
  • Relationship
  • Marriage and Family
  • Child and Adolescent
  • Domestic Violence
  • Victim Assistance

Fees and Funding:
The Clinical Program is funded through a combination of fees, insurance payments, including Medicare and Medicaid, and donations from United Way and the Diocese of Pueblo’s Bishop Development Fund. CCDP offers a sliding fee scale, based on income, beginning at $5 per hour. The initial intake session is $10.

CCDP counselors all have master-level degrees in social work or counseling and are licensed or supervised by a counselor licensed in the State of Colorado.
